Another lovely portrait of Mini Aodla Freeman

We have adopted Inuit Elder Mini Aodla Freeman as our aunty here in Edmonton. We love her so. She shares all she can with us.

Long time ago, she told me once: the women used to tattoo each other with ptarmigan bones and soot.

Holy cow, I think about this every day.

Three lines on your chin, she told me, means three children.

They wear their stories on their face.
