Our Stories Matter

Residential school survivors and their families share their voices, stories, history, knowledge, teachings, memories, genealogy, resilience, traditions, and healing.

The Lethbridge Public Library, Indigenous Services Team met with First Nations, Metis and Inuit living in the in the Blackfoot Confederacy territory who wanted to digitize and share their stories of survival, culture, healing and family and supported their creation of this content and sharing on Voices of the Land.

The Lethbridge Public Library acknowledges that we are gathered on the lands of the Blackfoot people of the Canadian Plains and pays respect to the Blackfoot people past, present and future while recognizing and respecting their cultural heritage, beliefs, and relationship to the land. The City of Lethbridge is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region III.
