Native Counselling Services of Alberta

From its origins as a single Courtworker program, Native Counselling Services of Alberta has grown into an agency focused on social justice for Indigenous people. For 48 years, NCSA has assisted Indigenous people gain fair and equitable access to justice, children’s services and corrections systems in Alberta. NCSA recognized that Indigenous people often feel alienated by legal and court procedures, and that they need support navigating the justice system. NCSA has evolved to deliver programs and services as well as legal education, research, training and film production.

BearPaw Media Productions and BearPaw Communications are departments of NCSA and our films have impacted audiences across Alberta and around the world for over 40 years. Created by a team of Indigenous researchers, writers, producers, directors and production crews, our films explore issues relevant to today’s Indigenous communities.
