The Thunderbird House, or PÎYÊSÎW WÂSKÂHIKAN, is the first public space in the city to support smudging, a space to celebrate our Indigenous communities, hold ceremonies, and make connections.
As part of the annual YEG Youth Connect, Edmonton Public Library asked young adults from various cultural backgrounds what they would do if they were mayor Edmonton.
Through a national contest students from across Alberta were invited to create a work of art representing what Reconciliation means to them. Winners were invited to an event with Alberta's Lieutenant Governor where they shared their artwork and discussed.
