In May and June 2023, the University of Alberta’s Institute of Prairie and Indigenous Archeology (IPIA) held an archeological field school at St. Albert’s Historic River Lots. On July 24th, SAPL staff attended a seminar hosted by the St. Albert Grain Elevators, where Dr. Kisha Supernant (IPIA Director and Professor of Anthropology at the U of A) discussed the findings, techniques of collection, and history of the Métis archeological footprint in St. Albert.
